WE ALL GAIN FROM THE ARTS. THIS IS WHAT
A FEW HAVE SAID:
I feel Sensei Kevin has gone above and beyond in his seach
for " what works". Sensei has taken the time to research and learn about so many different arts, so as to be
able to teach the counters techniques from other martial arts. Like
he always says; "Our attacker may have also trained in the martial arts". I feel like my son is the luckiest boy to have a man like his Sensei to learn from and look up to . Thank you Kevin, for all you have done.
Yours truly Mike S.
You have too see this place in action...We
had our son enrolled in another local Martial Arts school for about a year. However, we were treated as a income
sourse, even after the contract, money for this, that and the other thing. It was more of a big day care than a
Karate dojo. However, the Pence Academy is a real Martial Arts school and as sensei says, "with no contracts, I interview
for my job as teacher every class. Sensei Kevin is a wonderful teacher, father and just a great and a positive
role model for our son. This has been one of the best thing we could have ever done for our son.
Thanks to the Pence Family

Dear Sensei Kevin;
Your visit to South Church Day School was
terrific. The children enjoyed the demonstrations which included board breaking, sword display, and a show of kata.
It was fun for the children to watch all the defense moves. The children at our school are very young so they particularly
enjoyed the hand moves (blocks) that Mr. Pence taught them during his visit. We are grateful that Mr. Pence and
his students took the time out from their busy schedule to delight us in this professional demonstration.

I spoke
to you at the group workout you brought your students to at the Martial Arts Research Inst in the summer. I told you I had
trouble with a lock up when I went to your site. Well, not anymore you have done an excellent job with info I cannot say enough.
I feel totally informed and I don't even go to your school. I took Kempo from Sam Biancuzzo in the 80's and made 3rd
brown I had know idea of the history of Kempo and teachers. You have set a president others would have trouble matching.I
thank Mike and May for having such and open door with other styles to meet others like yourself. Thank You Rodney
Dear Kevin Sensei
My son Jay was having a hard time adjusting to school and
being away from us at home. We looked for a something, a sport to enroll him in where we could be away from him for short
periods of time at first. He was not interested in t-ball or football but had shown an interest in Karate. We had taken
him to another school but he had a bad experience and would not go back at all.
I told him about Lil' Tigers program
and how the age groups are kept together, he said he might like to go - I took him immediately! Jay decided
to join and after the first class he was so excited that he wanted to attend class again the very next day. When he went to
his second class he didn't care if I left him at all... he was having to much fun.
Shortly after starting
his classes, his school teacher called me and told me that Jay was doing much better with being left in the morning .
Thank you so much Sensei

Dear Sensei's My fascination
with the human body, both anatomically and physiologically, has lured me into a vigorous sport. The Martial Arts, specifically
Kempo Karate is not only my source of cardiovascular fitness, it also provides me with unlimited energy and an adrenaline
boost. The moment I enter the Dojo, I am immersed in a totally different mental attitude where my worries are temporarily
extinguished through the short meditation. The countless blocking, kicking and punching drills balance the soft mental and
coordination techniques. By gradually learning to generate my inner-chi,energy, I can establish physical power, mental stability
and control. My karate class is not just a daily workout, it opens another field of knowledge, mainly about the numerous joints,
bones, and muscles constituting the delicate, yet powerful human body. Thank you, Sensei Bryon and Sensei Kevin for your
relentless time & efforts in providing me with the knowledge of Kempo Karate without which,I know I would be incomplete.
Yours in Kempo, Anindita Deb
Dear Kevin and Bryon, Just thought we'd drop you a note and thank you for
all of the time you spent with us when you taught in Peabody. The last rank certificate we have signed by both of you is Blue
Belt! Can you believe that? We wanted to let your students know how fortunate they are to have two patient, knowledgeable,
and kind people to guide them on their journey through martial arts and their life. Also, we wanted to let the parents of
the juniors know what superior role models you both are for their children. Respectfully, Rich Staples 3rd degree

Dear Sensei Kevin As a student in the arts for many years it
was a pleasure to come and visit your school recently. Your style of teaching was perceise and informative. Your ability to
control a classroom of children was impressive to say the least. It will be a pleasure to be re-joining your school as a student
once again.I look forward to seeing you soon. yours in kempo, S. D. O.

Dear Sensei Kevin and Sensei Bryon
I just wanted to thank you for everything you have done for both my brother and me these past two
years. You not only taught us everything we know about the Arts,
but you have truly enhanced our understanding of ourselves and others. Moreover, you have provided us with such a comfortable family setting where the dojo feels like a second home. You are
incredible martial artists, encouraging teachers, but on top of that,
admirable role models who we will look up to for the rest of our
lives! Most importantly, thank you for helping me reach my goal of attaining the rank of Shodan before going off to college
in the fall. I could not have done it without your incessant dedication, all of your encouragement, and last minute efforts.
Hopefully, I will be able to study the Arts throughout life, and hopefully I will be lucky enough to have both of you as my Sensei's for years to come!
Thanks again! Yours in Kempo, Anindita

To Sensei Kevin, Just a note to thank
you for all your knowledge and instruction that you so generously gave to me as one of your kempo students. I started the
martial arts in March of 1996, under the instruction of Master Carozzi in Peabody. As I started to move up through the ranks,
you took the time, patience, encouragement, and in depth knowledge, through alot of classes and privates, to get me to October
of 1999, where I received my 1st degree Black Belt. Not only did it get me in the best shape I had ever been in, but it gave
me the confidence and discipline and to achieve many other goals in my life, and I truely thank you for all that you've done.
Kathy Pieroni, 1st degree Black Belt Shodan
DEAR SENSEI's Many people wonder why I take Kempo
when there are so many other things I could do? The obvious reason, for self defense. It does teach its students how to defend
themselves, if ever the situation arises, but a student is never taught to use what they have learned for aggression or showing
off. I know that such things as sports are important to the youths of today, and there is nothing wrong with sports, Sports
teaches us to have respect, and learn about cooperation and team play, they also allow players to meet other people, and is
a good recreation for both fun and exercise. Then what happens when you are out of school, and professional scouts aren't
knocking down the door with a contract? Its unimaginable what we learn, and what you take away with you. If you are looking
for exercise, we do plenty of that, but if you are looking for more, then try it out, you never know what can happen, but
know that Kempo has a future for EVERY student, not just those with the talent. Shaolin goes past high school, and we have
people who are in their fifties and beyond and are still doing well and loving every minute. For most of us, there are so
many things in life that lead to a dead end, but Shaolin has been going on for over 1500 years! Shaolin is great for aerobic
exercise, strength training, and developing the body you desire. We never run out of things to do. It has helped me to be
a better person. Anonymous
Dear Sensei's; I have been taking karate under your instruction for a little over
a year now and have been greatly changed by my experience with the arts. It is not only the physical and mental growth
I have gained from it that keeps me coming back, but also the atmosphere of the dojo which you have made to be warm and welcoming. Thank you both for your patience and support; you are both great instructors
and I hope to be able to continue training in the arts under your instruction for a long time. Seema

Dear Sensei Kevin and Sensei Bryon,
I would like to thank you for your excellent web site. My grand-nephews, Trevor and Devon, are two of your students
and through your website I am able to obtain information on your studio and the programs available for young children. They
truly are committed to becoming the best at their sport. I thank you for giving them the encouragement needed
to progress in the martial arts field. I am very proud of both boys and look forward to hearing
about their achievements, which they do on a weekly basis through phone conversations. Sincerely Sylvia

Sensei Kevin, I couldn't have done it with
out you. All of your teachings, words of wisdom, and encouragement are what got me through it. I was surprised
that I was not only able to pass the major test but a minor one within. I could have killed one but didn't. Over
the past few months, I've noticed many of these little things that show how tuned in to the art I really am. I
notice myself seeing mistakes in techniques performed by others and being able to help fix them. I never did that until
recently. I must have grown more love for the art. Thanks so much for the bonsai. It will be a constant reminder
of your help and devotion in assisting me to my goal of Shodan. (haha I love saying that word!) Now I can work
toward Nidan. Yours in Kempo, C.S.
